Program Overview

Develop a Deeper Understanding of Herbalism

The Certified Master Herbalist program is designed for students who want to move beyond matching herbs to isolated symptoms and develop a whole-person approach rooted in traditional herbalism.

You’ll begin with the history and philosophy of herbal practice, then advance into tissue states, constitutional patterns, herbal energetics, herbal actions, organ affinities, and materia medica development.

The program also emphasizes practical herbal education. You’ll study plant identification, ethical wildcrafting, preparation techniques, responsible herb selection, herbal safety, and formulation principles.

As you progress, you’ll learn how to gather client information, recognize patterns, and develop individualized herbal recommendations within an appropriate scope of practice.

Through structured coursework and case-based learning, the CMH program helps students build a thoughtful framework for applying herbal knowledge for personal use or in educational, retail, private practice, or other natural health settings.
